Metrick wines is in large part an arena for exploration and widening understanding of what is possible with wine, which Alexander Jules believes is a never ending journey, so he is constantly toying with his methods as his understanding evolves, constantly trying to improve.
In much the same fashion as he scours the Iberian Peninsula and Sherry Triangle for his Alexander Jules sherries and imports, self trained winemaker Alex Russan goes where he feels the grapes match the site. Metrick wines are elegant and precise, made gently and intentionally, with the goal of aromatic complexity, cleanliness and transparency, and to show a time and place.
