Woodberry Wine adds wines from JB Neufeld to its portfolio
Highly rated Pacific Northwest Cabernet Sauvignon producer
Troy, Mich. – Woodberry Wine, LLC announces the addition of a highly rated, and up and coming Washington State star to its portfolio, JB Neufeld. There are three Cabernet Sauvignon’s being brought to the market, Two Blondes (RP 91 pts), Artz Vineyard (RP 91 pts) and Yakima Valley (RP 92 pts). The owner/winemaker is Justin Neufeld, who is also the winemaker for Gilbert Cellars and shares winery operations with his wife, Brooke.
Premium Cabernet Sauvignon from Washington State is considered a relative value as compared to high-end Cabernet from California. Washington State’s land costs are lower, water is plentiful and fruit quality is very high. As a result, the State ranks second in premium wine production in the United States and continues to grow as total wine volume rose 9% from 2007-2014 compared to .8% for California during the same time period. The success of winemaking in the Evergreen State has drawn the attention of California winemakers, as well as savvy consumers.
