Wines from Domaine St Andrieu introduced in the Michigan Market
New Provence Rosé Producer has roots in Bordeaux
Troy, Mich. – Fine wine distributor Woodberry Wine announces the addition of Domaine St Andrieu, from Provence, France to their already impressive book of Rosé wines. Included are two delicious wines, the Cotes de Provence 2014 and the L’Oratoire Coteaux Varois en Provence 2014. These remarkable wines are immediately available for distribution throughout Michigan via Woodberry Wine’s sales team.
With 6.3 Million hectoliters produced, France is the world’s largest producer of Rosé wines in the world – and Rosé wines are one of the hottest growth categories in the United States. According to a January 2014 Nielsen report, 2013 retail sales of imported Rosé wines grew 39% on volume and 48% on value. “The Saint Andrieu wines are fresh, round and textured with a very broad, lush fruit profile and are very easy to love”, stated Dan Glisky, Jr., CEO of Woodberry Wine. “As we grow our portfolio, we remain committed to partnering with the best producers in the world, and we are proud to represent Domaine Saint Andrieu in the Michigan market”.
Saint Andrieu is located in Correns, which is very near Brignoles (inland, not near the coast) and includes vineyards in both the Cotes de Provence and Coteaux Varois AOCs. The soils here are denser, made up mainly of clay and limestone, and the climate is more “continental” resulting in broader, more lushly textured wines. The winery was acquired in 2003 by Jean-Paul and Nancy Bignon, owners of famous Bordeaux producer Chateau Talbot, who have been ambitiously renovating and improving the property ever since.
