More about this Producer
The Saint André de Figuière domaine covers 65 hectares (160 acres) and is surrounded by forests of pine, cork oak, and eucalyptus. The land is composed mainly of schist, formed by the re-crystallization of a clay-based sedimentary rock due to high heat and pressure in the earth’s crust. Ranging from silver-gray to golden ochre in color, it breaks in thin layers, which produces a fine, flaky soil.
The wines are fine, elegant, and mineral with complex and refined aromas. The rosé wines, always very pale in color, are aromatic and have a perfect balance between mineral and fatness. The whites are crystalline with floral notes of acacia and fennel coupled with the freshness of citrus fruits. The reds, boldly colored from crimson purple to dark garnet red, have hints of black fruits enhanced by the aromas of licorice, and mature tannins.
Winemaker Alain Combard has a strong passion for the land which he has developed for over 40 years in Chablis and Provence. Three of his four children now work alongside him, making this winery a true family run estate.
