There was more than spring blooming this past week in Bordeaux as I attended En Primeur – which signals the arrival of the latest vintage of Bordeaux – the 2015’s. Still young and developing in oak barrels, we will see them in the US market sometime late in 2017 or early 2018. The vintage, in a word, will be sensational.
Winemakers across the region are already comparing it to other highly acclaimed vintages of this millennium, while some truly believe this could be there best vintage ever. This was the consistent talk throughout the region, right bank and left, from the most famous Château’s to the obscure. Perfect weather conditions paired with consistently improving winemaking facilities and techniques yielded consistently great quality throughout the region.

Throughout Michigan, one of the great things that Woodberry Wine does is host trade tastings that allow restaurants and retailers to explore and experience the magnificent portfolio we offer. In doing so, it has given me a terrific opportunity to meet many of our valued customers and prospective customers, whom I can’t thank enough for their continued support for our company.
The 4th annual performance of the Art & Wine Dinner at Victoria’s Wine & Dine in Oxford, Michigan took place on Sunday, June 8th. Chef and owner Victoria Connelly, and Woodberry Wine Partner/Sommelier Michael Cregar make original, and as much as possible, locally produced art selections from Merge Gallery in downtown Oxford. There is a cooperative synergy that takes place between the two local businesses involved.
